A wonderful review about "Chungking Alley" can be read online: Go to http//diversionsla.com/ laartmuraloncanvas or just google: LA Art-Mural-On-Canvas: Jodi Bonassi
My painting Chung King Alley is at Coagula Curatorial. For all purchase inquiries contact Mat Gleason, firstname.lastname@example.org. In fact you should come to Chinatown and see his gallery. Always showing great work and it is with a whole row of cool galleries. Make a day of it and then go over to Master Chef to eat. All walkable.
Please go down the rabbit hole into the LA Art Scene. I created this painting about the LA Artscene, the life I chose to be a part of. All special people from all walks of life come together weekly to hang out on this special street. They drink, laugh, look at art at a number of the galleries. Artists, writers, curators and gallery owners. I KNOW THEM ALL!
DIVERSIONS LA JUST WROTE A GREAT ARTICLE ABOUT THE PAINTING: HERES THE LINK: LA ARTSCENE MURAL-ON-CANVAS, http://diversions.com/?p=35
I created the artwork for the invitation for Dan Tana's 50th Anniversary. It was a closed event for the regular patrons and celebrity clientele that has frequented their establishment since it's opening by Dan Tana. It was an elegant evening in which my son and I were invited to enjoy. Great food, drinks and a live dance along with the celebs on the red carpet. AMAZING all due to the excellent organizing skills of Kevin Mark Lodie, a marketing expert in all areas. He has a talent for bringing people together with great results.
I am always appreciative of the great people I meet on my continuing art journey. I have had the pleasure of working with great people like Alan Nakagawa, Senior Public Art Officer for Metro art and with Kevin Mark Lodie for the Dan Tana event. Mat Gleason, well respected for many years in the LA Art community now represents my work. I am appreciative for all the people I have come to know and continue to meet. Karrie Ross is another special artist. I was proud to be in her book, "Our Ever Changing World" Through the eyes of artists. She is amazing in every way, both as a creative and as a special human being. The book is so beautiful and can be purchased directly through Karrie or on Amazon. Contact www.oureverchangingworld.com for more information. She continues to created incredible art books for all to enjoy.Betty Ann Brown wrote the foreword. She is a well known art historian, critic, curator and a philosopher in many ways.
Betty Brown is another special person and I adore and love her dearly. An amazing human being, a well respected art critic, art historian, and curator as well as a well respected teacher in and out of the classroom. I am honored to be her friend during this life.
I've been drawing alot on the metro, quick sketches of people who ride as I do. I love people watching! Drawing in public places has always been real and I enjoy the communal exchanges that take place. Working on the new Gun Children series is also helping me to deal with the realities of the violence that takes place and how children are growing up in a less than friendly environment.
I am offering a few fine prints on my site. I also have work as prints and cards on Fine Art America and the Saatchi site. One collage piece and one portrait at affordable prices for a limited time, so please check it out.If there is a particular painting you would be like as a print, please let me know.
