It's Not Pretty
Post Surgical painting. I had a double mastectomy based on multiple biopsies thru the years and a positive brka test for the cancer gene. Paintings center on how women identify to breasts, hair and other female parts. We forget that we are not a sum of our outer parts. Post surgeries were done based on ruptured implants. Materials were those used in surgery such as bloodied gauze in some cases, drawn drainage materials, paper towels, mediums used are acrylic, oil, pencil, pastels and ink.
